Hi!

I'm Ashley Caval Curto, your friendly neighborhood tutor! Thanks for stopping in.

This site is currently under a complete overhaul. I've struggled with how to present myself online because I have multiple interests/identities. I've tried the overly formal route in the past, but as time has gone on, I feel that it is more authentic to publish things as I would actually say/write them. I hope that this will be a hub not only for potential students to gain an introduction, but it will also be a place to highlight my music and photography passions as well as to release content that can help students/people of all ages and situations. Learning is one of the most wonderful things we have in this world, and I'm here to create a community where all are welcome, all questions are valid, and curiosity and beauty are treasured.

If you're on this site, you probably already know who I am since I am AWFUL at advertising myself, but I hope you trust me with your/your child's needs, be it academic support, test prep, college counseling, enrichment, and the like. A few things that set me apart:
  • Over 20 years of subject tutoring experience
  • Experience with neurodivergent students/executive functioning issues as well as high achievers
  • Deliberate lack of specialization in one subject, though let's face it: I love math; part of why I ended up as a music major in college is that I have deep interests in everything, and I try to build connections across subjects to help foster understanding and a love of learning that extends past the classroom
  • A desire to work with diverse populations, including homeschool situations, adult learners, and people who the standard system has not fully served

If you are interested in booking some time or have any questions, please feel free to contact. Also please check out the store, where I am offering prints of some of my photography as well as learning aids/cheat sheets/extra practice.
